POEM: IF SHE KNEW

POEM: IF SHE KNEW

(First and foremost I am a Poet, always remember that)

For Shiyela.

If she knew her worth she would realise that she was a Queen

Destined for a King

If she loved herself enough she must quench

The fight within

If she recognised that there were degrees of beauty

She’d never feel ugly

If she honoured her womb, she would see

The truth will set her free

If she knew to be gentle with the hands of time

And learn that life has a reason and rhyme

If she could sing the melody of her soul

She would become whole

If she knew she was loved and a blessed child of God

She would fly on wings of Angels
