Haiti: Sponsored slim

Help us to change lives.

Ladies do you want to get fit and lose a few pounds for summer, whilst raising money for Haiti?

As some of you may know I have candidly shared my weight loss battle over the past 18 months. I am doing a sponsored slim for Haiti to raise £1,800 for my flight and accommodation. The 2010 Haiti earthquake was a catastrophic magnitude 7.0 Mw earthquake, with an epicenter near the town of Léogâne, approximately 25 km (16 miles) west of Port-au-Prince, Haiti’s capital. The earthquake occurred at 16:53 local time (21:53 UTC) on Tuesday, 12 January 2010.Your contribution will help to:

  1. Build two homes
  2. Teach in schools and outreach
  3. Medical clinic

I am a volunteer for Shai Foundation, who is a charity run by it’s Founder, Jennifer Lapompe and we will be taking a team of 14 volunteers to Haiti from 27th October to 10th November 2012. For more information visit Shai Foundation: http://www.shaifoundation.org/

Haiti still needs our love and support.

Target

My goal is to lose 28 pounds. You can sponsor me per pound or offer an overall plaque amount of your choice. If you would like train alongside me together we will:

  • Meet once a week for regular group exercise
  • Invite top industry Personal Trainers to support our fitness regime
  • Discuss food diaries and fitness target management
  • Film video vlogs of our progress

There is a £10 administration fee to sign up to train and get directly involved with the Haiti sponsored slim.

HELP US, HELP HAITI all I have are my words and the ability to empower the despondent. Remember one hand can’t clap. Thank you.

Background information on Shai Foundation.

The Organisation

Shai is a Hebrew word meaning ‘gift’. Shai Foundation is a charitable organisation managed by a group of UK based ministers and committed Christians. The Shai Foundation is built on the Holy Spirit inspired vision to create a solid financial structure to encourage Christians to respond to Christ’s ‘Great Commission’. The primary aim of the Foundation is to support missions in the UK and globally. The vision was given to the founder one afternoon while reflecting. God speaks to us through visions; the Prophet Habakkuk exhorts us to; …… write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it…Habakkuk 2:2-3…

Vision without action is merely a dream, action without vision just passes the time, and vision with action can change the world.

Mission Statement

Our goal is to mobilise Christians to step out of the comfort of their church buildings and away from ‘church as usual’, reaching out into the communities. We want to raise the profile of mission amongst the Christian communities encouraging them to undertake missions design to alleviate suffering, relieve poverty and improve the quality of lives for people globally. Our goal is to see the word of God shared globally and to encourage ‘believers’ to serve.

“Blessed is he that considereth the poor.” (Psalm 41:1)
